Intriguing question from Greg Boyd this 4th of July:
How can a holiday that celebrates one group of mostly professing Christians violently overthrowing another group of mostly professing Christians be venerated by people who are called to love their enemies and to be peacemakers, even if they happen to find themselves on the side that won? I read the post by Greg Boyd. Thought provoking. It is easy in this country to get our patriotism intertwined in our walk with God. I feel blessed to live in this country, and yet I believe it is more important to be a follower of Christ first and foremost.
